Jurys Inn Parnell St, Dublin

*****

Great location for Northside activities. Clean rooms if a little on the small side. Polite staff and efficient check-in/check-out processes. Cheap enough rates too... Internet @ 5 Euros for 1 hour or 10 Euros for 24 hours.

Christine and Dermot Gannon have created a flawless hideaway experience in the Tipperary countryside. Our short one night stay turned out to be one of my most enjoyable travel experiences ever. My lovely mother-in-law Mary got myself and Catherine a...

Dunworley Strand, West Cork

*****

One of the best beaches in the area. At low tide there are loads of rock pools, rocks and a clean sandy beach which disappears at high tide. Clean clear water but unfortunately no life guard nor toilet facilities.

London House Hotel

*****

This low priced hotel/hostel was recommended by a friend as being good for short stays. It fitted my needs perfectly and I will be using it as my base for any future trips to London.

Marriott Windsor

So it's in Slough, not Windsor but turned out to be an almost ideal base for several days whilst we went to Legoland. Inexpensive with lots of facilities in an easy to find location. When planning our Legoland trip, we asked around about hotels and...

Yotel Cabin Hotel, Heathrow Terminal 4

Well-priced overnight accom (and avail for a few hours for less moulah too). Clean, modern and (obviously) small. V Comfortable tho. Only let-down was that WiFi wasn't working..

I love finding something great almost on your doorstep that you've ignored for years. We finally took a trip to the Model Railway village last weekend and it was a resounding success. Kids, young and old will have some fun here. I've lost...

Cafe La Potiniere, Chamonix

*****

Standard tourist fare but not bad and amazing value. Fixed price menus great. Try the fondue, raclette or pelas to get a feel for local cheesy dishes. Side salads not great. You'll leave sated and stuffed.

Le Bartavel restaurant, Chamonix

*****

Very busy italian-food place but very middle of the road. One good pizza (salami), one great one (calabrese), a poor green salad and poor italian 'garlic bread'. Good fast service tho and a total bargain, like most things here, compared to Ireland.

The Old Post Inn

*****

We got a voucher from my mother-in-law for The Old Post over a year ago and finally made use of it last weekend. It consisted of one night's stay plus dinner. I've previously given it top marks in a review last year and had eaten there...

Some funny writing makes up 5 mins of this dire mess. If they removed the smutty references, kids might enjoy. Avoid
